Nick Baldwin

Nick Baldwin compiled the Collection over a period of fifty years in his capacity as motoring writer, vehicle restorer and classic car auction adviser.

He was born in 1945, the son of John Baldwin who later became publicity manager for Jowett and Rover cars. Nick's first job was in Land Rover's experimental department but he soon became a motoring writer and joined Old Motor magazine. Nick has written over 25 road transport and tractor related books, and has worked for magazines as diverse as Supercar Classics, Diesel Car, Bus and Coach, Stationary Engine and Classic Tractor. Nick has always been besotted with old vehicles and his restoration projects have included Caledon, Bean, Albion and Morris-Commercial trucks. He has also been a member of the National Motor Museum's Advisory Council and a motoring consultant for auction houses Christie's and Phillips.
